Heritage Sites
Notwithstanding it's name, El Camino Real has always been a road of the people, especially today. Throughout the Americas, the culture of this historic road is celebrated with festivals, remembered at historical sites and preserved in memory with the help of museums, parks and academic institutions. You can experience the “mystic chords of memory” on our website or by visiting the many wonderful museums and public institutions where our common heritage is preserved and made vital. The list below will continue to grow as we add categories and new locations. All of the listed sites are linked to informative websites which also contain contact information and directions. So get your horse out of the barn and saddle up! And happy trails on your trip!
